SEPOY SHURRUF ALLY KHAN, 27TH PUNJAB NATIVE INFANTRY. Afghan War Medal 1878-80, 1 clasp, Ali Musjid (officially named, engraved in upper and lower case capital letters and numbers: S. SHURRUF ALLY KHAN 27th. P.N.I.). Scattered surface contact marks, otherwise attractively toned, Very Fine or perhaps a little better.
When I purhased this medal (Morton & Eden, 9/7/2025, lot 306, part) it was described as being "erased and re-engraved". This is not the case. Close inspection indicates that the medal has not been erased and the engraved naming is entirely original.
